Shared Midnight Ride

"The British are Coming!"-some of the most famous words in the history of the United States. Paul Revere suposedly rode to alarm the leaders of the colonies that "the british were coming." Not true.

Firstly, the colonials - to-be-americans - were called british, so Revere would be saying "You are coming!"

Secondly, he was not alone. He rode with two other people, William Dawes and Samuel Prescott.

Thirdly, Revere didn't even finish the trip. Prescott was the one who finished the trip and alerted the people. Revere was more famous and got spoted and stoped.

So why did Revere get all the fame? Simply put, his name probably rang better in the rhyme. So if you are thinking about doing something historic, makesure your name can rhyme.
